Starwind Launches Political Violence and Terrorism Program

October 15, 2024 - Starwind Specialty Insurance Services, part of the TIH family of companies, is pleased to announce the launch of Starwind PVT, a new Political Violence and Terrorism (PVT) program.

October 15, 2024 - Starwind Specialty Insurance Services, part of the TIH family of companies, is pleased to announce the launch of Starwind PVT, a new Political Violence and Terrorism (PVT) program. 
The Starwind PVT program is led by Program President Chris Kirby. Based in North Carolina, Kirby joins Starwind to build an MGA backed by A+ rated, domestic and international insurance and reinsurance paper. Launched October 1, 2024, the program is focused on coverage for physical damage, business interruption and liability coverage for terrorism, strikes, riots and civil unrest, active assailants, and workplace violence as well as broader political violence perils for non-U.S. assets. 
A recognized leader with insurance industry expertise spanning more than 30 years, Kirby has been at the forefront of many developments within the PVT marketplace. Kirby states, “We are seeing increased demand for PVT coverage driven by political and economic uncertainty, making this a critical juncture for introducing Starwind PVT. Our program is compelling in terms of both market position and access to proprietary technology. With one of the most advanced automated underwriting platforms in operation today, we are proud of our ability to provide new, alternative distribution opportunities to our partners.”
